Clinical Supervision
Supervision
Supervision is provided to New Jersey licensed social workers (LSW) who are seeking their clinical level licensure (LCSW). Supervision is provider 1 hour per week for individuals or in small groups.
When we begin supervision towards independent licensure in New Jersey a licensed social worker will provide proof of licensure, permission from their employer and agree to the supervision agreement and come to supervision meetings prepared.
Supervisees will be provided with a quarterly review, the required documents for their clinical licensure application which include a copy of the supervisor’s resume/CV, proof of completion of the clinical supervision course, and proof of licensure.
Details.
Supervision towards clinical level (independent) licensure is not a guarantee for licensure from the state of New Jersey. Supervisees are required to complete 3000 hours over 2 to 5 years which is broken up between clinical and non-clinical work time. 50% of the supervision is required to take place in person. Supervisees should check with the New Jersey state board of social workers and NASW to remain appraised of any changes in the licensing law. The cost of individual supervision is $100 per week. New graduates should identify any hardship towards payment.
